This is a little message of thanks to all the guys that have assisted me with putting my Gauge package in FINALLY!

John Kennedy,

Your service and concern for your customers is First Class! The gauges and Pod look and work beautifully! I'll bet you thought I would never get them installed.

Hoot,

Your writeup on the thermocouple install was perfect and the pictures helped greatly. You can drive that big old goat over here and I owe you a beer!

The rest of you guys,

With all the different posting on gauges and different installation methods, I was able to make a very professional installation. I ended up drilling and tapping right into the intake snout because I didn't get a tee to put in the waste gate line. Plus I can't do Al Tig at home, so I couldn't add the Al block to the after cooler tube. The intake snout is more than strong enough for 1/8" Pipe threads.

By the way, the best, (easiest), place to get wires through the firewall is through the Accelerator wiring gromet. It's in the right place and will pop right out for modifications. Very gummy rubber and almost self seals.

Whoever put the gmupfitter web site address in their post, thanks! I now have all the electrical and chassis manuals.

Whoever said they forgot to truss their thermocouple and boost lines, Thanks! I did and it makes the installation look OEM.

Macken, Hoot, JK, and Eric, plus a few other old geezers,

Thanks for the info about pulling the Heater cord out. While I had the inner fender well out, I finally fixed that little problem too!

Eric and John K.,

You could make a few more bucks off of me by offering a riv-nut retro-fit kit for the inner fender wells. Or, carry the OEM fasteners. I can see that they won't last very long pulling them out often.

Eric, I still need to procure one of your fine WIF tools! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

Nick,

Thanks for a wonderful site where guys and girls can come and talk about their trucks! The info found on this site is priceless! Words don't seem to do my sentiment justice. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif

For all those people with stock trucks that tow,

I recommend highly to put an EGT and Boost gauge package on. I've never felt real comfortable about pulling my trailer without them installed. They are an excellent addition for monitoring your engine performance. Plus, you might just learn a thing or two about your driving habits and how to improve you milage. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif

Dave, I do carry the OEM wheel liner clips... There on my site

As for a rivnut conversion, the price of the tool is too much for a single use like that. Although some have done it.

Thanks Eric, I'll look a little closer. I was suprized at how quickly the liner comes out. It definately makes it easier to work that side of the engine.

You can "make" a rivnut tool with a bolt and a couple of nuts. It is slow and a pain, but cheap!http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif
