I have a 07 sierra classic and I trying to figure out where to mount the ballast and igniter for my HID lights? Can you tell me where you've installed yours? I have headlights and foglights so I need to find a place for both.

Def. for the Fogs...you want to mount the Ballasts as far away from "the elements" as you can...unless the Ballasts are Potted, then it's ok.

Ballasts can get Damp...just not Soaked.

In the past working on our Body Style trucks...I have mounted the Headlamp ballasts either between the Fender & Radiator Support Frame, or right behind the turn signals on the bottom.

As for the Fogs, I always set my customers up with Potted Ballasts, and mounted them right in the middle of the bumper from underneath.

...BTW, what color temp. did you go with?

They are 6K, I had them on my old truck which was an 04' f150 so I just had to order new 9006 bulbs. I've done the install on a few different vehicle but mounting everything is the hardest part. What is a potted ballast? I've only worked with the Mc Cullough kits that have a seperate ballast and igniter.

Potted has a Silicone like solution poured into the ballasts that depending on what kind of Solution it is, it dries hard or soft, thus fully water-proofing the internals of the Ballasts, making them able to fully withstand the elements without shorting or having any ill effects.

Good thing goign with a 6k bulb. Generallt I tell people the highest they should go is 6k. 4300k will give you the most light output though.

I hate to say it, but Mc Culloch kits are very well known in the HID world for their high failure rate. I hate to tell you this, but as I think of it, you are better off knowing, than not...ya know?
