I have a 1982 chevy 6.2l with a dual tank setup. I cannot get
fuel to the engine from either the left or right tank. Any ideas where
the problem could be?

Does your lift pump work when you jump the fuel relay, orange wire to grey?Edited by: quantum mechanic

Look for a cracked rubber hose under the truck. If there is a
leak in the line, the lift pump may not be able to pull the fuel to the
engine. How have you checked to see if you are getting fuel?

1.Check to see if your transfer switch is working. Normally the drive side tank will transfer fuel thru the transfer switch when power is off to the switch, but the switch shaft might be stuck between the two positions.
2.If you have a mechanical fuel pump then it might be bad. If electrical then it would be easy to check. Disconnect the lines and put a new piece of hose in a container of fuel and see if it pumps.
3.The fuel solenoid in the injection pump is defective. If it is defective then you will not get fuel to the injection pump. Normally you can hear the solenoid click (very faintly) if you jump the connector. Mine failed one time due to a broken wire on the solenoid coil. It is a very fine wire, but I was able to solder the broken ends together in a tiny ball of solder. It works fine and that was probably 80,000 miles ago, plus it was a lot cheaper than buying a new solenoid. Personally, this would be the first thing to check since it is the easiest.
4.Check your fuel lines to see if there is a crack, but then you should be able to see the leak.
