Just hoping someone can shed some light on where all the "pivot points" and chassis lube points are.
I have never owned a vehicle where I've planned to do so much on my own. I have never lubed my own chassis before, and I don't even know what the heck "pivot points" really are or where they are at.
I hope you guys can help me and maybe help some other "newbies" out there.
What do you guys use to lube? GM qual. or other? Where might you get it.
Thanks for all the help, guys.
I am kind of dark on this subject as well, aside from the zerk points..
This will answer a part of your question.

Use th best heavy duty chassis grease you can get, Valvoline is good but there are others to. I use Schaefer's. Get a good grease gun with an 18" hose on it. I use a compressor (air) powered grease gun with 60#''s air pressure.

Don't let any ultra anal retentive types scare you away from asking good questions.
I've found myself that there is plenty of info on the site but there is so much of it sometimes I just have to ask because I've forgotten where it is.
Enjoy and ask much, that's all we all learn. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

Thanks.
Rear diff. done; transfer case done.
Very simple, went with Mobil One for everything.
Got dark so I will grease up the chassis tomorrow.
I bought Auto Zone out of the 75w-90, so will have to do front diff. later. $6.99 a quart.
Thanks to all.

I thought the rear-ends...calls for synthetics?

Mobil One 75w-90 is synthetic.

Do not over grease. You do not want to blow out the boots. Three or four pumps will usually do it. Later! Frank
