So i went back to the track again today . i listened to a few of you guys about trying different tunes . well to my surprise with the 215 and level 4 i could only get 13.40 's , i am not quite sure where my 13.0 came from with the same tune but i did do it once .

so then i try level 5 with egt backdown enabled and no defuel of course and the quad 135 . bam!!! 13.22 ok thats cool so it goes faster on the less of a tune . not ssure why but i'll take it.

i tried clamping my springs in the rear , only thing that did was make a hell of a bumpy ride to the track . i took them off and ran the same thing , 60ft did not inprive at all , still 187. best to 1.95 . it seems as if i really need to boost it up at launch to over 2,000 to get it to take off right . so there you have it . i wanted 12's didnt get it and now i am scratching my head AGAIN !! .

I am thinking of selling my juice and quad and try the tts extreme , with nitrous . but first i will buy nitrous and see what happens . then maybe the TTS .

any thoughts for me to ponder this week !!! test and tune is the next 2 weeks then closed for a while . it is going to kill me if i dont get into the 12's this year yet !! Edited by: datsbad

Don't suppose you still have any stock wheels and tires laying around?

If you want some help troubleshooting a 1/4 mi pass, post all the data in the timeslips. The "splits" are important. MPH shows HP, the rest of the data tells where you might find room for improvement.

here is the time slip breakdown

R/T .509 , 60FT 1.87 ,330 5.467 ,1/8 8.449 , 1000 11.03 , 1/4 13.224 , MPH 102.36

Jason, 483 RWHP ???....Dyno-jet or Mustang dyno??? Either way, the #'s look good. I think you CAN make 12's!! Work on your 60' times, hole shot is critical!!!(air press., rpm, method, etc.,etc.)...shave a little more weight off and your there!!!! Good luck!

Now what are the 13.0 numbers?

Looks like you have some room on the launch.

Did you get to the point were you were spinning all 4 yet or barking them? Or was every pass dead hooked? You said stock firestone 245's? What pressure?Edited by: ratlover

If you weren't spinning hard, I would have tried to build more boost. Don't worry about the lights, when you feel the truck trying to overcome the brakes (2500?), then launch.

Not that I'm an expert, but with a 100HP tune, I cut 1.92 at 7400lb. You might be able to cut a 1.7x with your power I'd estimate.

i will try it out again . i just dont want the truck to start bouncing on take off , that might break something

Now your results may very but my first launch resulted in some very violent spinning, I kept my foot in it and nothing snapped lotsa hopping and stuff but no breakage. I scalled it back and got a nice 4 wheel bark. That was with my bars up fairly high.

Keep adding launch psi till you break traction or bark the tires.

If you want to cut your times you are going to need to launch as hard as possible. Then you can start doing things to aid traction, but if you arnt breaking traction then there is no need to do any of the stuff we are mentioing. If you are fearfull of launching any harder then you are going to be stuck with your same times unless you add lotsa power and try to make it up down the track. 60's make a huge deal in ET's though. There is no other place on the track were cutting time will make as big of a change. Just becasue I didnt break anything when I launched way to hard dosnt mean you wont. If you go and do some crazy heman launch and break something dont try and hunt me down because some dude on the internet said you would be fine. I take no resposibitly for you trashing stuff. Use at your own risk ect.
