Got the Fumoto installed and was tightening, when the hex began to spin-not much, just a little. I didn't apply that much torque, certainly not as much as was on the oem drain bolt.

So the question is, did I damage the Fumoto? I'm thinking that the hex screws into the valve body and if anything I tightened the seal, but I want to be sure.

thanks!

use a wrench on the body of the valve. an open end. The hex is on the nipple and should not be used to install the valve. Looks like about a 3/4" wrench should fit it

Thanks dmax, I just figured that out (thanks again to this forum!) I'd forgotten that you can get a version without the nipple--I have the nipple http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif and realized that I needed to use a wrench not a socket!

Thanks!
