IS there such a thing????

So far Courtesy Chev has been a total waste of time and my dealings with Mack Haik, so far, have not been encouraging. I seem to know more than they do!

My 01 had serious damage done due to driving 300 miles with the injectors leaking into my crankcase. THREE sets of injectors later Chev gave me a couple of thousand dollars toward a new truck and I just purchased a 04 lly from Mac Haik.

I need a dealer/ tech that gives a damn!

Good one, who also posts here, works at a local GMC dealer (West down I-10 from Courtesy). Don't know if he can do anything with a Chevy. Done a good job for me, and several others that I know.

I spend a lot of time on the gmbuypower.com website searching the local inventory for the perfect (I guess I need to order it) GMC or Chevy DMax. I have a specific list of options that I don't want, and a bigger list of stuff I must have. Two big items that I must have are steering wheel controls and cloth seats. So far EVERY SINGLE truck I have found locally in the Houston area that is close has been modified by a customizing company. They add leather seats, woodgrain accents to the dash and other parts of the interior, add aftermarket wheels and larger tires, plus a few other things, and mark up the truck accordingly. Of course they don't show that on the gmbuypower site so I find out after I get there. And most of the salesmen that I've talked to prior to driving upwards of 200 miles round trip to look at a truck that it's been customized! Of course then they try to get me inside to sit down and search for the 'perfect truck' locally or to order one. I've been looking at the Duramax trucks since they came out in 2001 and have yet to buy one. Mainly I get turned off by the MSRP/invoice price difference, which they all tell me that they can sell the truck to someone else for more money and won't even get close to invoice. Or the interest rates are rediculous. I've walked out on two deals so far where I made it as far as the finance guys desk but walked out after realizing I was going to have an $800/month for 5 years at 8.xx %..catch my drift. Or what they want to give me for my trade in is about $5K less than KBB or NADA shows for average trade in value. Of course they are in the business to make money but give me a break!

So I keep looking. I've even looked at a few used ones but if they are already close to or past the 36K mile warranty cutoff I pass.

I've even been looking at the new Dodge 2500 and 3500 SRW trucks which are priced a lot lower and sell closer to invoice but I've always been a GM fan. Right now my next truck is going to be a GM, it's just taking me a lot longer than I thought to find the right one.

As for ordering one, I'd be going nuts waiting for it, then when it came in expect the price and financing to be higher than what was agreed on, which I've heard happen before.

There is no one single Houston area dealership or more specifically a salesman that I feel that deserves mention here. And none that I would say to stay away from.
