Does anyone know of a receiver hitch for the front end that does not extend down below the air dam? I'm looking for one that tucks up there nice and high, out of the way. I don't mind punching a square hole in the air dam to insert a "stinger" (2 1/4" ball-hitch mount).

Sure makes manuevering a boat around a whole lot easier.

This is the one I have:

Hidden Hitch (http://tinyurl.com/te7h)

It sits as high as I think you can get. It pushes the airdam up a little. There is no way I see to get a hitch that mounts any higher in the front.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for the reply. I've looked at the Hidden Hitch very carefully. If they would have mounted the receiver tube on top of the horizontal tube instead of below it, it would probably be perfect. It would be just below the chrome part of the bumper, but totally concealed behind the air dam. Poke a square hole in the air dam and voila. I seem to recall someone actually doing that; bought a Hidden Hitch, ground off the welds and reinstalled the receiver tube on top. I may have to do the same thing, or design my own.

What's the big deal??? It fits fine, you can barely see it's there.

Probably too far out (and ugly IMHO), but I thought it should be mentioned:

This is the Warn bumper setup for thier portable (and fixed) winch.

They also make a really cool front bumper for 2500HD and 3500 models, however no receiver: http://www.warn.com/truck/mounting-systems/heavyduty_bumper.shtml
