: 4-6" 2500HD Lifts
Spartd 11-06-2004, 04:58 AM I am going to put a lift of my new truck and had some questions. I don't want to jack the thing through the roof but would like to get a little more space between the ground and the frame. I tow about 20% of the time and spend another 20% of the time off the pavement. Pictures would be great to get an idea of what I am looking for. Thanks for your help. Who makes the best lift?
Does a lift have any effect on warrantee?
4" lift = 33" tires?
6" lift = 35" tires?
Voodoo 11-06-2004, 05:19 PM Spartd,
Who makes the best lift?
CST
Does a lift have any effect on warrantee?
Depends on the dealer I guess. My dealer has no problem with anything. But then I know if a gear goes it my problem and so on... <?:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />
4" lift = 33" tires?
No problem with that.
6" lift = 35" tires?
Will look and drive great.
GMC2500HD 11-06-2004, 08:28 PM Some dealers will have issues with the lift and some will not. You will have to talk to you dealer about the issue before you lift the truck and like I did on my last truck, I took it by after it was complete so they could inspect it. They took that to mean that I wanted them to know it was done by a professional and would withstand anything. Also while I do agree that CST makes a good lift, they are by far not the best. I would also look at Full Throttle and a redesigned version of the Full Throttle which is made by Third Coast Suspensions. Good luck...
wsucowboy 11-07-2004, 12:36 AM personally i reccomend RCD lift kits for a 6". From my experience (I have lifted about 200 or so HD's) The RCD kit fits perfect everytime, and I have not had any comeback with a problem. It is the only kit I will EVER put on my own truck and the only one I suggest to my friends.
For a 4" I would say Rancho, for the same reasons listed above.
The CST is a good lift, but not what I would trust under the extremes of towing heavy. The full throttle would not be a good choice because as far as I know that company still does not have Liability insurance, which is a must if you happen to get hurt because of the failure of their product. JMHO.

datsbad 11-07-2004, 08:11 PM WHAT WHEEL /TIRE COMBO IS THAT I LIKE IT ALOT . WHAT ARE YO DOING WITH THOSE ?
87Bandit 11-07-2004, 08:13 PM Is there any way that you can fit 35's with a 4 in lift?
ockgator 11-08-2004, 12:11 AM 35's with 4" rancho no problem, but only on 8" wheels, need 6" lift for 10" wheels. My 02 cclb 4" rancho lift 35" pro comp M/T, boss's 05 gmc ccsb Dmax same but with 35" swampers, newer front bumper needs a bit of surgery on some trucks
wsucowboy 11-08-2004, 12:55 AM WHAT WHEEL /TIRE COMBO IS THAT I LIKE IT ALOT . WHAT ARE YO DOING WITH THOSE ?
If it was me you were asking then....
The first pic is Centerline Vectors in chrome with 35x12.50x16.5 BFG all-terrains. the second picture is Polished centerline Tracker's on the same tires (replaced the vectors because the chrome was peeling)
I am putting the Swampers on for the winter, the sh*t they put on the roads around here during the winter destroys aluminum wheels, so I purchased a set of Chrome AFX Bandits from one of the members here and I am gonna run those along with the Swampers until they stop putting the sh*t on the roads.
Diesel-N-Dust 11-08-2004, 07:09 PM The R.C.D. and the Rancho are the same kit!
They are manufactured by the same people.
If you lay the pieces side by side you will see what I am talking about, the only difference is the Rancho is welded together as a one piece subframe.

Are you serious? thats a funny joke but you are obviously mistaken. Race Car Dynamics has always built their kits in-house, and the same goes for Rancho, not to mention that the two kits you describe as being the same are totally different lift kits altoghether, being that the Rancho is a 4" and the RCD is a 6". And yes the Rancho does have a one piece subframe, and if you look at it the pieces that make up that one piece subframe are totally different than the pieces that RCD uses. Even the finish used on the metal is totally different.
I dont know where you got your "information" but you are sadly mistaken.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif -Jeff
Spartd 11-09-2004, 12:20 AM That 4" rancho kit with 295 tires looks great 2004HD04! The 6" RCD also looks awesome.
I have sent an Email off to RCD to see if they have any local distributors in my area (south west Washington).
I have not seen anything on Tuff Country 4” Lift with Mountain Ryder Extreme Shocks? The local Les Schwab will throw them on and they are who the dealers go through in the area to put lifts on their new trucks. They are also covered under warranty. But haven't seen a thing on them, any thoughts?
These are the wheels that I like, 18X10". Will these even fit on my truck?

Come on up to Tacoma and See us, Olympic Off-Road on 38th and Pine. Just take the 38th st. exit off I-5. Yahoo maps says its only about 85 miles. We have done tons of HD's, many of them for Jet Chevrolet in Federal Way, and we sell RCD, Rancho, Skyjacker, Trailmaster, Revtek, etc. check out our website: www.olympicoffroad.com (http://www.olympicoffroad.com)
I work there when I am home on breaks from college, the owners name is Tod Hale, just give us a call and we would be more than happy to answer any of your questions! thanks -Jeff ShewellEdited by: wsucowboy
Jim659 11-09-2004, 12:55 AM 4inch rancho lift with 33's looks awsome
2500HD04 11-10-2004, 10:18 PM Datsbad, my wife drives the truck most of the time and she is only 5
feet tall. Any taller and I would have to get an elevator for her to
get in http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif.
315's I think would stick out to much. I still have to come up
with something to keep the dirt and spray off the side of the truck.
The tires I have and the backspace put them out a ways.
Diesel-N-Dust 11-12-2004, 07:05 PM The Rancho lowers the LCA 6" and lowers the front diff. 4".
The RCD does the same thing, it is a 4" kit "cranked" to 6".
Put a tape on it and see! the diff is only lowered 4".
Jim659 11-12-2004, 07:23 PM datsbad,
How did you fit 315s on your truck with no lift? I put 285s on mine cranked the torsion bars added rancho 9000s and still had to do some trimming.
datsbad 11-12-2004, 10:15 PM i just cranked the bars and trimmed , and spaced the bumper out 1" . seems there are alot of us on here with the hummer wheel/tire combo , thats all it is
Tel9000 11-13-2004, 12:36 AM I have a slight wheel (toe in) problem with my 6in Superlift. How can I fix this?
baimpala 11-13-2004, 09:20 AM Adjust your tie rod ends out a little. . . You should have it aligned. . . Make sure you adjust each side the same. . .
