: Which kit to buy! (water/meth)
04dmaxhd 08-08-2007, 12:08 PM I am getting ready to buy a water/meth kit but I dont know which one to go with the Painless Striker or the Stage 2 Snow Performance? I pull a race trailer quite often all over the US racing quads so I wana keep it safe and realiable.
BattleMax 08-08-2007, 06:26 PM I'm wondering the same?
mytmousemalibu 08-08-2007, 06:31 PM I LOVE my Coolingmist stage 2! Exellent system, nice digital controller thats tunable by PC if the 10 preset tunes arn't enough! see my garage, for pic. of the controller and nozzles. installed parker flow control to close one inj. for normal crusin.
bluebeast 08-12-2007, 03:05 PM I enjoy my snow stage 2, I can now tow 13000 on 100 horse tune and never get egt's over 1300. I would recomend the bigger bottle though. :)
ecc_33 08-12-2007, 07:40 PM Super diesel has a nice kit
kodydog 08-13-2007, 02:36 PM Snow Performance has their new Stage 3 controller our but unfortuately they do not have an up to date instruction manual to go with it. Poor planning but the product appears to be good. Kit comes with everything you need just not good instructions.
Kennedy 08-13-2007, 03:36 PM We'll do 15% off the Snow kits on our site while supply lasts. I have several in stock and I'm getting sick of looking at them on the shelf.
Orders must be placed thru our web store and note Discount code JK-15 in teh comments blank.
Erkius 08-15-2007, 12:42 AM I like Enginerunup or Coolingmist kits. They have the best controlers out there. I've got 25K with no problems running WI. Loweres my EGT's a good 200 deg. They are a lot more advanced kits then Snow. That's not to kock Snow, they do work well and are a simple thing to install.
b_poin 08-15-2007, 01:50 PM any negatives to water/meth? i am haveing a egt problem while trying to run a semi hot tune??? up for so good sugg. got the trans problem cured now on to the next. got to pay to play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and once again (sorry)which ones are the better product?
mytmousemalibu 08-16-2007, 12:58 PM The only negative i see is the cost if buying a kit which isn't really a prob.
you could cause your self trouble if u go higher tha 50% methanol but unless you do some serious sled pullin you don't need that much, i never use more than 30% and most of the time just plain water. Just remember that the methanol is another fuel being introduced and to much can cause pre-ignition and make ur EGT's go up too, if theres to much meth. And i wait till the engine's up to temp before turning it on or the engine heasitates and smokes from lack of sufficant combustion heat. So for all intinsive purposes, there arn't any neg's i can come up with! Spray-on!!!
KD do your snow kits come with the:
"Snow Performance's 2D mapped progressive controllers" are a TRUE two dimensional system meaning if either input signal goes up or down, we vary the injection quantity by increasing or decreasing the injection rate.
Your picture looks different then the one on snow's site.
I just ordered your kit, but post order knoticed its for 01-05. Mine is an 07 LBZ. Did I screw it up?

Kennedy 08-20-2007, 08:03 PM The kits that I stock should match the images that I used on my site.
06bowtie_guy 08-20-2007, 09:17 PM Not attempting to steal your thread but just wondering. Do you always have to mix or can you just run water?? Does just the water help make power or does it just cool the egt's??
mytmousemalibu 08-20-2007, 09:59 PM Water is usually all i run unless im at the track. Cools and adds power cause it cools ur air charge, more dense=more power
luv737superpro 08-27-2007, 04:43 PM how many guys run winshield washer fluid in their systems?? Im looking to order a kit for my tow rig/dailydriver and ive heard a couple od guys using washer fluid but didnt know if that was reccomended. I have plenty of meth. sitting around as my race truck runs on it, but just wasnt sure
mytmousemalibu 08-27-2007, 05:42 PM I mix my own, u can do that too. washer-f works but it leaves dye
Kbracing96 08-27-2007, 06:25 PM I run washer fluid in my gasser. I've ran probable 20-30 gallons though my motor and haven't had any problems with the detergent. -20* washer fluid is aprox 40% meth, 58% water and 2% dye/detergent in it.
mytmousemalibu 08-27-2007, 06:29 PM Street use I'd stay below 30% meth on a diesel, just my opinion.
Too much = detonation
