Hi i was wondering if anyone could tell me if its a bad thing that my 6.5 when i put the throttle to the floor it bellows black smoke is that normal i know its a 97 6.5 but im new with it any comments will help Thanks

Does the smoke clear up quickly? If not, check your wastegate operation.

It's fine then. When you punch it, the turbo is not spooled, causing over-fueling, and that causes smoke. As soon as the turbo spools, the air-fuel ratio evens out a bit, and the smoke clears.

So, My waste gate isn't working correctly since mine still puffs black smoke untill I let off of it? ... Looks like I'll have more work after I'm finished with my fuel tank flush ...

Check the operation before saying for sure. I think you can find how to check it in the FAQ's.
