hi guys,i'm another newbie to this site and would appreciate your help. three weeks ago my truck would cut off at idle when cold and would be very hard to restart.this got progressively worse until it finally would not start at all. had it towed to a dealer which was 150 miles from homehttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif, who kept it for two days and could find nothing wrong. thanks to this site i was able to pinpoint the problem, which was the lift pump. had it replacedand the truck ran fine on the way home. when i refueled yesterday, truck would not start for about 10 minutes. when it started, ses light came on. had it scanned and it pulled a po251 "injection pump metering control A" code. after getting it home, let it sit for 10 minutes , started right up and light went off and hasn't come on since. has this happened to any of yall, and should i be expecting more trouble? have had the truck for 3 years and no trouble til now. i would appreciate any help. What's you're milage? Ip's get replaced upto 190,000 iirc. It could be nothing but keep track of it and it should lead you to what's wrong.

mileage is 97250.would the computer reset itself if it didn't see aproblem.? also,any ideas about problems when filler cap is removed?

After 50 starts with out DTC the PCM drops the code, iirc.


code a may be the same as OBDI code 35, not sure, possible air in fuel lines?
