Since it seems that so many people are running these and others have so many questions, I thought it might be a good idea to start a thread that will have everything in one place.

Lets start with what we know.

The wheel is a 17x8.5 with a 8x6.5 PCD.

Offset is +18 which equates to 5.45866 backspacing. Most round up to 5.5"

It is available in silver painted with a machined face or factory chrome.

There are knock off wheels and after market chrome wheels available.

Factory wheels are stamped GM in the center where the lugs are.

Factory chrome wheels are still rough cast between the spoke, not smooth.

The factory H2 center caps will fit but require a spacer on the rear.

Factory Chevy and GMC centercaps from the PYO aluminum wheels fit with minor modifications to the mounting feet on the back.

Factory Chevy and GMC centercaps from the steel wheels fit iff the outside edge is trimmed down.

There are several tire sizes that fit depeding on if the truck is stock/leveled/lifted and whether or not you want to do any trimming.

265/70 fits with no mods
285/70 fits with trimming to front valance or slight t-bar crank
295/70 fits with trimming to front valance and moderate t-bar crank
305/65 fits with trimming to front valance and average t-bar crank and moderate splash guard trim
33x12.50 fits with trimming to front valance and average t-bar crank and moderate splash guard trim
305/70 fits with trimming to front valance and extreme t-bar crank and moderate splash guard trim
315/70 fits with trimming to front valance and extreme t-bar crank and extensive splash guard trim

Tire fitment is different from tire mfg to mfg and truck to truck. This is just a guideline.

I encourage everyone to post your combinations and what you did to make them fit as well as any pics.

Mods- if you could make this a sticky maybe we won't have so many posts asking the same questions abouth these wheels.

Great stats Crash. This should definately help out some future newby's.
Costs for wheels with and without tires range considerably. You can get Silver's for free or very very cheap. Chrome wheels probably from $35 per wheel to $150 per, just depends on how hard you shop.
Tires and wheels usually go from $75 per wheel/tire to $200 per.

I have 33x15.5 MT baja ATZs and they fit with just trimming the valance and a slight t bar crank. I'm not even level. Think around 1.5" These tires measure short though and are about the same hight as my 265 75 16. I get some rub every once in a great while

Painted em and polished. Look in my garage for pics. Run spacers in the rear so i can run the center caps that i filled the hummer log on. Got em from "Fred" Pretty sure they are 2"

I ran 295's with only a slight tbar crank and very little trimming (same amount I originally did for the 285's). The stock pyo caps fit just fine on them without any modifications.

ratlover-

I love the blacked out look. I just picked up a set of H2's that are pretty scratched up and want to do the same thing except using the stock PYO caps. Did you strip the clearcoat first? What kind of paint did you use? Did you clearcoat them afetr you painted them?

Had em blasted and then polished the spokes, then masked and painted. Wish i woulda shot clear over the whole wheel so i didnt have to repolish the spokes every once in awhile  When I get em redone I will do that. Just used automotive paint
