Has anyone seen the new BFG MT 2 tires? I was at my tire dealer today and he had a brochure on them. They looked interesting.

there has been talk about a new design and pictures, but this has been going on for a good amount of time...you have pictures or prices on these tires?

The price on those BFG's are another story as well. Supply and demand I guess.

I saw a pic in one of the magazines. The tread looks a lot like the Krawler.

they used the krawler mold i believe. ive seen other pics of them in a offroad magazine. there are more sipes and grooves cut in the center lugs. looks interesting. they wont have much info on them, as i have read, bfg wouldnt talk much about them until their official release.

That looks like a rough, noisy tire but would be good in the right conditions..

i saw these about a year ago on a 2500 HD DMax tow vehicle at a rock crawling event. Same pattern as their crawler tires, i am hoping with a little less soft compound. I believe the crawler he was towing was sponsered by BFG, so i bet he got some prototypes. Looked SICK! just a little pricey for me:rolleyes:

Not a D-thing wrong with the original KMs. Yes they make noise.:D

They claimed in the brochure that I read that they would be quiter than the MT's. They don't make them in a 16". There was a cd in the brochure maybe I should try to get my hands on it.

I thought they just made a few sets of those in 22's...maybe 20's also (limited edition MT's, they called them) but they were really expensive. Someone on fullsizechevy.com had them on his truck and he said they wore a little fast too.

Those are the BFG Mud Terrain TA KM2. They came out in Oct. 05 I believe and were a limited edition tire. They only came in a 335/55R22 size, roughly 37x13.50r22. It looks like BFG is now going to mass produce these in a variety (20+) of sizes.

My brother currently has these on his truck and they are a sweet tire. Low noise on the road, great off road, the only down side is their tread life. Not sure if BFG will change the compound or not, but my brother only has about 8-10k on his and they are half gone.

They look like a copy of the BFG Krawlwers that I run on my Jeep. The Krawler's are a softer compond and are great off road except in the snow. If your plans include ice and snow get AT's because they have more siping in the tread making them better for Ice and snow. I don't know what you are calling off road but I've seen one tire pop sidwalls more than all others combined and that is the BFG mud TA. They last and hook up OK but roots and rocks pop the sidwall in a heartbeat. Pro-comp(pro-crap) are weak also. The best tire for road use and off roading is the Goodyear MT hands down. For extream like roots and rocks you need a bias-ply or the only radial built to take off-road the BFG Krawler. This is truly the best off road tire. They only last a few miles but rule the off road world. The next best radial is the Goodyear MT but they last and drive well on the road and is the only tire I would consider for a dual purpose. Micky T's don't ballance. Pro-comp is cheap crap as they come,BFG MT's and AT's pop. Goodyear Wrangler MT's are it. They off road great, balance out, don't pop and last a long time on the road.

They didn't come out in 05. And they are going to make them in 17" and 18" tires. Goodyear MTR's aren't that great. They wear bad and make a lot of noise. A bfg mt will out pull them in the mud any day. As for rocks I cannot comment.

I had good luck with my MT/Rs on my old truck. I absolutely loved them. They did great in mud and sand and weren't that loud at all. I would have seen around 40k+ on those tires if I had kept the truck.

Yup, that's the one I was thinking of...just rolled his truck in the dunes...How did that come out? Did he keep it and fix it? You guys have some nice trucks btw.

Sorry but I disagree with almost everything you said. Between me, my father and brothers, we have run every tire listed in this thread besides the Claws. Yes the siping on an A/T make them better in the snow. Yes, The Krawler is the best off road tire hands down. No, Pro Comp M/T's are not garbage (however almost everything else Pro Comp makes is besides their tow straps) We have had great luck with them. No, Goodyear MT/R's really are garbage, they don't hook up in anything except rocks, and even then the Krawler blows them away. They are loud on the street, etc. And I actually have yet to see a BFG M/T fail on the trail. Maybe all the guys I wheel with are lucky?

They didn't come out in 05...

My brother had them early '06 and they were available before he got them.

He's coming out pretty good on that deal. He's parting it all except for the goodies that he had on it. He's looking at an '06 CCSB to put everything under. That truck is stripped down to the frame now. My other brother is putting the 5.3 in his SAS'd '95.

And thanks for the compliment.

Don't know about anyone else here but when I was home this weekend I looked at the lastest copy of Petersons 4wheel and towards the front pages there was a jeep rubicon with a set of BFG MT's, but they didn't look like these, they looked like the old ones but modified with sharp angles like the toyo MT's or cooper STT's...

That's not the same tread design that was in the brochure. I've seen those on here before.

The ones on the Jeep Rubi are "special" and just for the Jeep.
