Ive made a few posts about a squeaky pully iget upon startup. It is very noticeable/loud when its raining/dewy/damp outsides. anyways im wondering would this cause startup problems. I was thinking along the lines of belt slippage or something...its been a bit cooler(30's) the last few mornings, and the startups have been less than i was expecting. It started up fine but seemed like it took a two secs longer...hate to find out what itll be like in the winter up in tug hill whens its -10....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif

i would suspect the belt first. Spray it with some brake clean next time it does it and see if it changes/goes away

would a bad belt = bad startups tho? this morning it was 52 when i turned the key, and my start wasnt anything special...seemed to stumble a bit, i dont suspect any glow plug issues as they were on for like 6-7 secs which seems about normal...my pa's p-stroker seemed to fire w/in 1-2 sec of crankin...i wonder if osmething bigger is at work here....

No other noises, just the squealing belt or pullley...today when i started it this morning at 36 and tonight at 31F the truck started up like a champ. there also was very little if any squealing both of these times...anyways could either the belt or pulley cause a irregular hard starts?
