If someone was going to buy a new or newly new '07, what would be about the latest build date, without having to buy one with the new emissions?

You want a truck built before Jan 1 2007. The engine rpo's would be LLY or LBZ.

The old body style (GMT800) does not have the new diesel emissions. The new body style (GMT900) does have the new emissions.

Is there a short cut? Can I just tell by looking at the tail pipe? Will it just look like the one on my '02? Would it be something in the VIN that I could check on the windshield without having to look it up for each truck I look at?

The short cut is; old body vs new, have you not seen the new designed trucks out this year:rolleyes:If not, look to the left

Yes, I have seen them but I am also seeing dealer lots full of the Classic style. I didn't figure all of them were made before Jan.

They were. It was not legal to build them without the emissions stuff this year.

They could build the old style trucks after Jan 1 with the lbz as long as the duramax was built before Jan 1.

If you wish to buy a 2007 without the new DPF emission system, you will want to get a CLASSIC.

All Classic 2007 Duramax trucks have the LBZ and NO DPF. All LBZ engines were built before Jan 1, 2007.
