How much height is added going from the stock 265's on 17" rims to 285/70/17 BFG's? I'm trying to figure out if I'll still be able to get into a 7' garage opening after a 6" lift. Thanks!

You're going to run 285's on a 6" lift?

The unloaded diameter of those 285/70R-17 tires will be approximately 1.10'' taller than the 265's. So they would make the truck approx. 0.53 to 0.55 inches taller, depending on tire pressure. You'll then need to add for the lift kit.

Sorry about my above response, but yes about 1/2". I would think that it would fit.

Thanks guys. And no problem Cheyenne, I actually half expected someone to ask that :) But yeah, I'm leaning that way because it might be the only way I can still park in my garage with a CST lift. Then down the line a few years when I'm living somewhere else with a better parking situation I can always switch to 35's. Sound like a plan? ;)

Mine was close with 285's and no lift! But it fit.
