Howdy.
FYI I am a new member to this site. I have an '03 D-Max/Alli 4x4. All stock except BFG mud-terrain tires in original size, K&N air filter and Bilstein shocks. I have heard much about the fuel injector problems with the '01 and '02 D-Max. Do the '03s have the same problems? If so, is there an extended warranty on them?
Thanks for the information in advance.

Yes some 03's are having injector failures. They haven't extended the warranty yet on the 03's but they said they will deal with them on a case by case basis. I don't think you will have any trouble getting warranty on them outside of the 100,000miles warranty and I also think they will eventually extend the warranty on the 03's.

Thanks for the response Max Power. I have not had any problems yet (62K miles); however, I just wanted to know what options I had if the injectors did fail on me. Have a good one.

Just had new ones in my 03 at around 75k miles. Only one was bad, but they replaced all 8. Until 100k $100 deductable is all it will cost you, and I agree with Max Power, they will likely include the 03 and 04 LB7's in the extended injector warranty group soon. Wish they would have done it already, would have saved me the $100. The extended warranty apparently has no deductible. Watch for smoke at idle and hard starts.

I did not have to pay a nickel.
Hi all,
New to this site... I've got an 02 Durmax, DynoMax exhaust, AFI stage 2 intake kit, 29K miles on it. I bought it used and it used to have a chip in it but not anymore. I posted a question in "ask the techs" about a hole in my intake tube jsut sittingt here wide open for all the dust to be sucked in...looks like hose belongs there.... well anyhow after reading through some posts I'd like to ask if anything what should I be looking for/changing out... like the injectors...I blow black smoke when i step on it... should have them checked? Any other preventative advice? Or hop up advice to make th etruck run better/stronger/longer?
