: juice with attitude test run
danger 08-05-2007, 05:31 PM just installed and drove on level three. pretty amazing results- 7.4 0-60, very noticable difference in power, even broke tires loose at 45 around slight corner. not too far into the drive the engine light came on and I lost significant power and had to limp it home. disconnected and waited, restarted and stock drove fine. reconnected juice and drove a while longer on levels 1 and 2 and the dreaded light came back on. Onstar diagnostics say the fuel delivery system in not working properly. Now I've got to completely take out system and drop off at dealership tomorrow. What are they gonna say if they see the drill and tapped exhaust manifold for the egt sensor? I'm one bummed out lmm owner.
23250r 08-05-2007, 05:52 PM Put a plug in it and maybe they won't notice.
Hmm why would a dealer care if you want to know what your EGT's are? I wouldn't think that would be a problem. Far as not having gages just tell them you haven't gotten them yet.
treyb07 08-06-2007, 02:04 AM You probably just got a bad juice, ive gone through 6 of them now, they keep having a problem with fuel rail pressure codes, ive just been running mine in stock until they can get it solved, i cant be in limp mode going down the interstate. Don't think you have a problem with the fuel system i think its probably just the box, you probably should just take it off, take it to the dealer if you are throwing codes without the module installed, if not i wouldnt worry about it.
hemisareslow 08-06-2007, 02:26 AM just tell them you have an egt gauge....installed the probe and are waiting for a pillar pod to be released so you can install your gauge
tbyrne 08-06-2007, 09:35 PM You can clear the code in a few seconds if you see the Check Engine Light. There is a function to read codes and clear them.
treyb07 08-06-2007, 11:08 PM Yeah, but the fuel pressure code takes awhile to get to go away
duramaxin14 08-06-2007, 11:20 PM Its sounds like limp mode. I guess lmm must have the same problem. I dont think there is a problem with the edge itself. Everything u explain is a perfect example of limp mode.
Bartman432 08-07-2007, 01:21 AM Send the Edge back and go with PPE. That's what I had to do. I haven't had a problem with the PPE tuner.
MKILROY 08-07-2007, 11:47 AM It is not an Edge problem!!! It most likely the old 1093 code in the LLY's because their is not enough fuel pressure......Shim Kit

Is this on an LMM? If yes, how did you get a J/A when they're still being tested, if not, you're in the wrong forum. :D
FASTDMAX 08-07-2007, 09:32 PM they are not beta testing anymore, anyone can buy one
01Cummins 08-08-2007, 01:08 PM Just put the Edge in last night and I cant even run around on level 2 with out throwing a light. Code P009E, I think its time to buy a PPE! Since Edge has been bought out by MSD they lost some important people and there products are suffering.
23250r 08-08-2007, 02:18 PM I didn't realize they were bought out.

Jason, when you Order your PPE, order 2.....That way, I wont have to wait on shipping:D HOT+2 Xcellerator ET Eliminator, but make sure it's the 350 HP tune!
BTW.....nice pic of your Truck....
01Cummins 08-08-2007, 10:32 PM Order Tomorrow, anyone else need a PPE product?
rcpd34 08-08-2007, 11:41 PM Yeah, but the fuel pressure code takes awhile to get to go away
Doesn't the new Edge read andclear codes?
01Cummins 08-09-2007, 03:54 AM Suppose to, but can't clear this code (P009E). Truck gets up to about 40mph after about a 1/4 mile. Makes it interesting getting out of someone elses way. I use to think Edge had there **** together, but now im thinking a little differnt. Thank g*d I have a Matco scan tool to clear the code so I can make it home.
rcpd34 08-09-2007, 08:50 AM Send an e-mail ofr call Edge. It's a brand new product. They'll make it right.
MKILROY 08-09-2007, 12:57 PM What is code P009E????
rcpd34 08-09-2007, 01:10 PM What is code P009E????
I don't see that code in my list. The closest is this:
P0009 Engine Position System Performance (Bank2)
01Cummins 08-09-2007, 02:37 PM Called Edge this morning, on hold for about 15 mins. They are aware of the problem and are shipping me out a new one. I sell a lot of there product out of my store and since they merged with MSD, Super Chips, products starting falling short of what they once were. There Evolutions are nothing but a head ache.
P009E
Edge Juice says fuel rail pressure
Matco Scanner says air fuel raio.

MKILROY 08-09-2007, 03:49 PM I am not a Programmer Expert but mine would through the Fuel Rail Pressure code before doing the PPE Shim Kit. A buddy would get the same error with his Banks Programmer until he did the shim Kit as well. So it may not be a Edge problem at all.
01Cummins 08-10-2007, 04:18 AM So does Edge come with a shim kit??? Nope, but maybe on a side note on there manuel should state, need a shim kit for fuel rail! After an over 800 dollar purchase, you still are going to need some pieces to make are product work. Yeah I will tell my customers that, should work great. Edge please oh please pull your head out of the clouds and be as good as you were 3 years ago. If not charge about 300 less to keep up to PPE or atleast Bully Dog!
MKILROY 08-10-2007, 12:03 PM "I" feel you are not compairing the same units. Can you change on the fly with the PPE? Can you monitor many different functions while driving? Again, it is what you want in a controller causes the $$ difference.....I think PPE makes great products but when I bought mine I was looking for monitoring options and changing on the fly. Again, I am not an Expert and not all trucks have this issue so they wouldn't send it to everyone. If you do some research like I did CA/ NE (emissions)trucks are very different than trucks in other parts of the country, more a GM/Goverment issue. Again if you don't check on things before buying one it is Edge's fault why???? Me I would never buy a BullyDog because "Actual" Bullydog issues.
01Cummins 08-13-2007, 06:19 PM Edge on power level -0- and check engine light on again. Hope the new Edge will fix this problem.
rcpd34 08-13-2007, 06:50 PM Edge on power level -0- and check engine light on again. Hope the new Edge will fix this problem.
What code did it throw? I've been running on Level 3 with no problems. Very pleased with the power gain.
01Cummins 08-13-2007, 08:44 PM It was an -under boost code- Egt's were aroud 1400 with my boat on the back.
rcpd34 08-14-2007, 10:39 PM I'm running the latest Juice software and have yet to throw a code on levels 0-3.
tbyrne 08-14-2007, 11:28 PM DTC P009E: Fuel Rail Pressure Relief Valve Performance
That is correct. This code is a little harder to clear than others. Won't do it on the fly. Pull the vehicle over, turn it off, key on without starting, clear the code, key off, wait about 2 minutes and you'll be good to go. I'm one of their Beta Testers and have experienced this with one of the modules that I've been sent. Never saw it with the others. I run Level 4 most of the time and am happy with the results!
