I own a junkyard and get a lot of free gas so after getting 204,000 miles out of my 1993 6.5 turbo engine I sold it and put in a 350 carbed gas engine with the same 4L80E trans. I adapted the TPS to carb and it works fine. I thought the engine speed sensor was fed from tach only to find out the 6.5 sensor was driven by the oil pump. The trans shifts ok sometimes and not other times. It also will go into a neutral mode sometimes and of coarse the converter clutch doesnt work. I assume these problems are caused by the engine speed sensor not hooked up. Has any one done this or can someone give me any ideas. I put an HEI dist. in, Can the tach signal from it replace the 6.5 eng. speed sensor? THANX! Jim
