Hello All,
It is just about time for my first oil change in my 04 LLY, Taking a look at a few different type of oil filters, or should I go back to the OEM Delco type, any input would be helpful,
Thanks Bart
Lots of different options out there with good filters manufactured by a number of companies.
I think most here would agree that you should NOT use Fram, other than that, Wix, AC Delco, Baldwin etc. are all good filters.
Be prepared for a possible fight getting the factory filter off. You'll need a good filter wrench and maybe something more drastic since from reports I've seen here, they must have a gorilla who installs them at the factory.
Mine was pretty tight, but came off okay with a good strap wrench.

I am running Baldwin's myself.
Baldwins are a very good choice--can be purchased from kennedydiesel.com -- a supporting vendor of this site
AC Delco's can be purchased from gmdieseltech.com - also a supporting vendor of this site

Anyone using 2-quart filters? Just curious since I changed the oil today using the AC Delco PF2232.

What's the problem with FRAM filters? Is there something I missed on this?http://dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif
