We are in the preliminary stages of setting up a program where the customer can purchase (by special referral from KD) their new Silverado through Domine Chevrolet in Loyal WI. This will be at a no haggle price at Invoice. The vehicle can be equipped with a multitude of accessories from bed liners to mirrors to floor mats, to shocks and hitches as well as performance accessories prior to taking delivery. We can also go so far as to run up some break in miles on the road or dyno and perform first service if requested.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Quite a drive for most, but with the guys traveling to the Twin Cities weekly, a "fly and drive" could also work!

Wow, what a great Idea John! http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif Is there a way to have a service dealer network for these trucks? It appears that many service dealers are not up to par. It would be nice to have a "go to" network after the purchase.

Your on track here but remember the price gotta be right to make up for the cost of travel over a local purchase. There are lots of dealers willing to talk & deal. great idea, bulk buying, Sam Walton made a fortune doing it.

It would be nice if you guys would take me seriously on this. No it's not for everyone, but let's just say, it will eliminate the haggling with the dealer salesman. I'm sure there's plenty of dealers who will cut a good deal, but I hear a lot of guys paying 44-46k for their trucks also. The main goal is to get the truck set up with the doo dads that guys want without making them run here and there getting them done. It is also designed to allow ME to do stuff in the evenings rather than try to get anything done from 8-5 while answering the phone. Then there's the marathon days when I have exhaust/exhaust brake, Mega filter, gauge set, shocks, etc. and need to have the truck rolling and done in one working day. These jobs could be split up a bit so maybe I could stand up straight at the end of the day...

Now if a guy wants it bombed, we can discuss that, but most guys that are bombing are pretty independent.

John - that sounds like one hell of a deal for you....Hopefully you can get a contract for something like that...Just as long as they don't hold you and your business responsible if there is a warranty issue that GM won't fix because of "aftermarket" parts being installed....If it works out for you, more power to ya...Just don't forget about the rest of us that look to you for advise!!!

Warranty would be just like anything else. Out of sight= out of mind.

Basically, I'd be opening the door to Domine's sales plan. If accessories were required, they'd be contracted through me, and I'd handle the install. Some options (like spray liners etc) would be subbed out.

Trades may get sticky, but I'm not ruling them out.

I get a customer now and then that wants a bunch of stuff installed, and turnkey on their new baby. This could possibly simplify the whole process. I also fully realize that buying a $40k+ truck doesn't leave much play money, but a lot of these guys/gals are starting out RV'ing and need the truck set up to tow...

OK, sifting through the details, through the end of 2005, we'll be doing a straight "at invoice" pricing on outright sales. The only "hidden fee" a $59 paperwork service fee which has become commonplace in the industry.

Sounds great. If only I was in the market would I be very
interested. I have my baby all set the way I want her and really
do like my truck as is. Great idea though. GOOD LUCK!!!

John,

What about diesel allocation from a dealer that small? I know that we don't get all of the diesels we want and we average about 15-20 diesels per month out a store that retails 120-150 new per month (total cars and trucks). I'm afraid if it took off, there may be some disappointed customers out there that would have to wait a long time or maybe not get one at all:confused: Just something to think about. It's ashame that GM doesn't make more.

As for availability, that will have to be discussed at the time of order. Presently supply is good, but that could change. Would have to be handled on a case by case basis.
