I was thinking of cutting muffler out and putting in either straight pipe or 4" Spintech Pro Street. Anyone used these on their diesel? Just looking for a different, meaner sound.

I would personally just do a straight pipe, think you will be pleased with the sound. Never heard of the mentioned brand.

I had the Pro Shootout version of their mufflers on my Avalanche. It sounded like a dragster (had longtubes & high-flow cats also), it was EXTREMELY loud on the outside, but wasn't bad at all inside. Yea it droned, but not as much as the Flowmaster 40 I had on before it.

They are def. an interestingly made muffler. They look like a brick, and the spirals def. give it a sound like no other.

I know you asked for Diesel Apps. but since you didn't get any replies, I figured I'd atleast comment and give some input.

I had one on a gasser. 100% pleased with the quality and the service. This was some time ago mind you. Dont know if there as good to work with still.

Mine was pretty quiet at an idle or low throttle but realy woke up when you got on it. Not much drone that I remember. It was on a 97 gasser 350 Truck. I just replaced the facotry muffler with a stocker.

Had a unique sound. Nice deep idle and when you stepped on it it sounded nice and deep, but sounded like you were spinning more R's than you were. i liked it. None of that cackle BS either.

I thought of trying one on my diesel......but I went straight pipe just becasue I like loud :D

Call em.....they will custome make you anything and get it to you quick in my experience.

I called them the other day. They said they would make one a little bigger being it's a diesel and spread the "baffles" out further. Was told $150. Would this be as loud as straight piped?

The Pro Shootout Series is about the loudest you can get from them. If you look at the pics of the different Series', the Pro Shootout only has 3 "Baffles".

It'll sound REALLY loud before the engine heats up, then once it's up to temp. it'll mellow out a little bit and sound different from what it does when cold.

Nothing will be as loud as straight exhaust. It may change the tone a bit.....or be close to as loud.
