Hey all. Getting the oil changed in my transfer case. I have the shift lever on the floor (manual) for 4X4.



Can synthetic fluid be added to it?



I think I have read that it is just transmission fluid. I
personally use Transynd. Service writer said Dexron III. I
do want to put synthetic in.



Is Transynd alright?

syn is fine IMO. I am running mobil 1.

Transynd is fine.


Personnally I run Mobil 1 ATF in the Transfer case. I would have run transynd but the boneheads at the dealer used all 5 gallons in the flush / replace procedure.

How much does the transfer case hold? I got a jug and about a
half of my own. Suspect the dealer will want to used Dexron III.

~2 quarts.
