I know someone who's planning on doing this.. with his 03 crew cab duramax.

He already has a CB, VHF radio, Lowrance GPS, onboard 120v AC, and sat radio.

He's running 265's as well.

What would you do to your truck to turn it into a recreational chase truck (not a fulltime chase truck)?

Full custom suspension front and rear, solid axle up front running on 35's or 37's with roll cage inside, extra bracing underneath for no frame flex...and depending on whats going in the bed of the truck a cage to potect things inside incase of roll over and custom mounting brackets for everything in the bed...and maybe a little crane on the roll cage in the bed for lifting a motor?

right now he's planning on 2 cans of diesel, and 3 cans of race fuel for the truck he's helping support.

PLUS!

I'd add a Pre-OE fuel filter. My truck LOVES Pemex, but it would suck to get a load of bad fuel!

A SH!T load of tools, a few pieces of plywood 4x8(as big as the truck bed will handle-mobile shop floor so you don't loose tools in sand), a floor jack, aux lighting on the rear or side of the truck, and EXTRA BEER!

Yes, but if I would be down there I'd also like to bomb around a little bit :D...have to take full advantage of the trip!!! Plus would look pretty tight wiht all that.

Stock will do fine, maybe some bilstiens. I would be bringing tools, honda 2000w generator, lights mounted on my trac racks to light up a work area if needed and so someone will see you in the dark if your on the coarse and wrenching on the truck, good fire ext, plenty of fuel and additives, extra spare tire, first aid kit and plenty of stuff to drink.
