My truck has blown the head gaskets and I need some opinions from others on whether it is worth fixing. The repairs will run $3000. The truck has nearly 177000 miles. I feel like it can keep going for a long time with this repair, how about you all? Also is it worth it to invest in the Head Stub kit to keep those gaskets in place especially since I am considering a Banks kit in the near future if I repair it.

Hell yeah its worth it. And head studs wont help any, unless you are running boost over about 45psi. And stay on this site for an extended period of time, and you will be lookin for a bit more than a banks system, i can almost guarenty it! Good luck

Heck yes it is worth it. However I would look for the best duramax diesel wrench in your area to have it done. Don't let some grease monkey who doesn't know about diesels do it.. Some dealers don't have anyone that knows there stuff. Maybe someone around you knows a good shop???

No really like stated above, and just think about if you went and tranded for a new one, you would loose 3 grand before you pulled onto the road.
