found on GM site HD trucks,
Reduced front 8.25 4WD axle lube levels from 1600 mL to 1430 mL (testing has verified reduction will not affect performance)

if my math is correct, they went from 1.69 US quarts to 1.51 US quarts....seems I put 2 full quarts in mine. Wonder if that is bad?

GM doesn't put the 8.25" IFS on HD trucks so how is that possible? Am I missing something here? BTW GM puts the AAM 9.25" front axle on all HD trucks.

I wasn't sure what size front we have but this spec is listed under all the pick up trucks even the 3500 ?
How about this change,
Reduce diameter of propshaft from 5.75" to 5.00" on K25/35 with M74 transmission.

I've always added fluid until it started coming out of the inlet hole. Once it stopped seeping out then I put the plug back in and was good to go.

This is what I did, and it held 2 full quarts.
