Well first off to all moderators, I'm not exactly sure where this thread should go on account of no future engines category, so i decided to put in my engines department please move it to where it belongs. Well I picked up an issue of Diesel Power magazine and was flipping through it when i came upon a "rumors" section. In this section they mentioned a new engine the 6.9L UMAX is what they called it. Has anyone heard of this? I know that GM is putting a smaller 4.5L Duramax (in 2010) in their 1/2 ton trucks, tahoes, suburbans, H2s, Escallades, etc... But nothing about a 6.9L.

ya i guess they had a prototype in a truck i believe, there was a statement about it in an old dieselpower magazine article

"Umax" was a typo...they are still calling it the Duramax ;)

I was pondered when I read that. All I could figure was Urea-MAX and that is not cool at all. Im just glad that was a typo. I feel alot better about GM's future.

BIG relief to hear its a typo. How do you know?
