TX-DMAX 09-07-2003, 05:07 PM Just sometimes, when I make a left hand turn, I get a rubbing sound from the steering wheel itself. It doesn't do it all the time, but it drives me crazy when it happens. Does anyone else had this problem, or know what is causing it? Wiley 09-08-2003, 01:42 AM My '02 started doing the same thing lately. I just passed 36k miles and it just started. Don't know what causes it. I was tempted to ask the service guy to check it out, but it doesn't do it consistently and I know what would happen. They'd keep it a day and say it was OK. I will check that. It looks like if that was the problem, it would do it more often. Edited by: TX-DMAX chipper 09-09-2003, 11:52 AM TX-DMAX, The bad news is it takes a qualified tech to replace the plastic because the airbag module must be removed to get the steering wheel off & the dealer I was at only had 1 tech in a crew of 5 that knew how. From a stop, usually in a parking lot, I think turning right it will make a rubbing noise.
