my vote is Programmer or PCM from TTS, and obviously the TTS Tow Tune is by far the best towing application. Ive tried towing with the edge and i just dont like the performance - Just MHO

Why do you think the Programmer better?

for towing it feels better and shifts better on my truck - i dont like how the edge feels when im towing 12K down the road, it just doesnt seem right and doesnt drive anywhere close to stock for me - it should feel like stock but just with more power IMO

I installed the Hypertech programmer III and love it. I have it set on level 2. My mileage actually went up one mpg after the install. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Mac, love the Impala!

I have a 22' tandem axle enclosed trailer for hauling the street rods in, total weight is about 8000lbs. I use the Hypertech on setting 1, tows great, I can actually break the tires loose with 500 lbs of tongue weight.

I am a little leery of the Edge Juice system due to all of the posts on the different boards about people having strange problems with their trucks. I know the vast majority of you have no problems at all with it, but I have counted 112 different people on 5 different forums having all kinds of problems, they all have the Edge Juice system. Maybe it's coincidental, maybe not.</DIV>

some claim to have tranny protection written in to them and others
dont, youd have to take a look at the websites for each to figure it
out - but honestly, i dont think you would notice one way or the other,
if youre adding power, and its too much, you will hurt the stock tranny
- keep the power lower and at safe levels for stock tranny and you
should be ok. i would rather see people get a tranny upgrade as
its money well spent and you dont have to worry about it at all - and
wont spend more money and time in the long run should something go
wrong !! i love being able to hammer it at any given time,
knowing the tranny will be fine, and pulling my toy hauler loaded with
90 extra HP isnt too bad at all http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/hihi.gif, considering i can pull any grade and the truck keeps pulling until i shut it down http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Rock%20On.gif

you'll need to do atleast an upgraded torque converter and transgo shift kit, and if you want more than that better clutches as well. Go to TTS website or Suncoast Website for some good info on the setups and then find someone who can do the install and youre set
