I read somewhere that the popping noise from under the truck can be eliminated if you loosen the 4 bolts of the crossmember and re-torque them back to the original specs.
However, I can't find the ft. lbs of torque needed. Does anyone know?
Thanks

I think it's 110 Ft. Lbs.
Check online with tuff country, I think they show the installation and torque specs.

Hit it with 1/2" impact... when it stops turning you're at specs

I agree with the impact idea...

Pull the bolts first and clean the wax off the area around the bolt head.... the wax acts like a lubricant and allows the bolt to move around. Just hit the area with black paint afterwards.... and yes I use an impact gun.
edit: pull the crossmember and clean the mating areas too.

Don't forget the stupid bolts are metric (18mm IIRC). Just so you don't round them off with a standard socket on the impact.
