: New Headliner?

Has anyone replace their headliner yet? Mine seems to be holding up well.... it just gets dirty. I ride with the windows down quite frequently and it really does make the headliner dirty. I was thinking of a "re-do" in a clean vinyl. Has anyone done this? I would think that the vinyl would cut down on any smell as well as being easy to clean, just wipe off the dirt. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif

Would there be any pitfals to doing this? Would it last as long? Does anyone think it would change how hot/cold the truck got? Anything good or bad.... toss it in. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

Thanks,

Your idea makes me think of those old headliners from circa '78 Monte Carlos. You remember them? They would become unglued then fall down and did not look all that great. I would proceed with caution here.

I do wonder how much a new headliner would run though...

Yeah, looks like some stapled a sheet to the thing... flapping in the wind. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I would think that the glue has advanced far enough so that we could do it? If it hasn't, maybe one could be sewn into the liner? Not only does mine get dirty from regular stuff... I've got one or two pen marks on mine. No, I don't remember how I got them...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif Just thinking about something different as well as pratical.

Take your truck hunting or haul a bunch of sweaty fellas from jobsite to lunch or something.... You'll know what I'm talking about. What about used trucks that have had smokers in them?

I like the old metal head liner a little windex and a paper towel and it all clean. I miss real bench seats too
