I had a race TCM tune on my truck when I bought it. I did not like the 2100 RPM shift points and the constant down shifting. I loaded an 01 stock TCM from the tune library. (I only saw a tow tune in the modded section) It is much more streetable and nice to drive. I will bet on a few MPGS after the change. Truly I would like to have something in between the race tune and the 01 tune. A streetable tune that you can take to the track. Or a way to load 2 TCM tunes and switch between them would be cool too. Any suggestions or tunes to share? Thanks in advance.
How about answering a question with a question. Do the majority of you guys run modded TCM tunes?

Whats your truck doing that you dont like? I find alot of shifting quality is in the ECM tune. Bout all I have done is mess with the converter lock up and WOT shift rpm, I'll probably dive deeper when I get closer to perfecting my ECM tune and lose the huge fear of smoking my trans .

Did you go up or down with the wot shift rpm.

down the 1-2 as I have issues geting it off the limiter. Going to do some back to back testing once I get the ECM shifting well and try moving the rest up and see what happens. Just a thing you gota play with at the track.
Actually done some more jacking with my ecm so i may try a raised 1-2 shift point again. Have it now at 3050 IIRC LBZ starts defuling at 3400RPM though. I think my lowered 1-2 was more of a bandaid.

you have to use extreme caution with jacking with shift duration. Hang a clutch for an extra millisecond and bye bye tranny.

Well the 2 tunes (race and stock 01) so far are absolute night and day difference with the same ECM tune. the shifts happen about 2-300 RPM lower now under normal driving. The truck coasts when you let off the gas now instead of downshifting you to a close stop. The shifts are night and day smoother with the 01 tune. Honestly I am happy with the way it is acting and shifting now and I am betting on better MPGS. I just feel it was modded before for a reason hence I might be loosing some performance with the 01 tune?????
