I was just about to ask about this, so I will hyjack the tread so to speak! I am interested in a lift up hard cover, and found "Undercover". Looks like what I want, any feedback on these? I already have a soft cover and hate taking it off, a roll up will not work, cause the grizzly will smash it against the front of the bed, and a regular hard cover you have to paint and it is heavy. This one is not cheap, but looks like it will suit my needs!

I had a snugtop hard liftup and loved it. It was completely weatherproof, which my Roll n lock isn't. That's what I miss about it the most.

I have a Roll-N-Lock, works pretty good.

I have the access cover and I really like it. I does a good job of keeping the weather out and is really easy to roll up and down. I would buy it again.

Also happy with Truxedo. Easy to install. Easy to use. Looks good. Price is right. Similar to Access.

There are many discussions about this subject here, but the link that Max Power posted is as good a discussion as you're likely to find. When I was looking for a tonneau cover for our truck, this thread was the one that finally sold me on Retrax. I looked at almost every type and almost every brand imaginable including soft top, rolling soft top, horizontal and verticle folding, hard retractable, etc. The only thing I didn't consider was a hard fiberglass type as I tow a 5th wheel and needed something that would roll up or retract. At first, I was thinking seriously about either Roll-n-Lock or Pace Edwards' Jack Rabbit. I ruled both out due to comments and complaints from some members about scratching or marring that occurred while riding with the cover retracted into the box as you would while towing a 5'er. Several people here, including Max Power, recommended Retrax highly. I finally made the decision to purchase one, have had it now about 6 months, and I also think it's a terrific product! Like so many other Retrax owners, I recommend them highly!

I have the Access agri-cover and really like it. When most people see me open it they say "Wow , so thats how that works. That is pretty cool !!"

I was all ready to order my Retrax after reading the thread too, but the new Gen III model which is nice and flat, isn't available yet for long beds, which I have. They said they are having problems getting the thing to spool up in the smaller box of the Gen III and it will probably be about 4 months. I am not an engineer but it seems like they could just use the same size box and drop it down a little bit to be flush. Also I can't believe just those extra 2 feet make that much of a difference. I just can't bring my self to buy the Gen II when I know there will be a nicer one out in a few months. I already made the mistake of buying my LB7 in October 2004 instead of waiting for the LLY because I didn't know about it.

Don't worry about the LLY. I think you are further ahead with the LB7.

My understanding is that the retrax can't make the GenIII on a long box because they can't get the polycarbonate in a big enough sheet. I will try to remember to double check to see if this is the issue or not.

I have a Snug top, works fine, never any water in the bed, it's 100% water tight from my experience.
