I know that you can use the LB7 filter on the LLY, but is it bad for it? Or does it just need to be changed more often due to smaller filter eliment?

Actually the LLY and LB7 have the same element size. Just the can is bigger on the LLY. So there is no need to change more often, it is not bad for it.


GM is coming out with a new filter to replace both of these filters. In fact, I am pretty sure the GM is no longer shipping the LLY filters and they are substituting with the LB7 filters until the new replacement filters are ready to ship.

LLY filters are no longer avail like Tony said. Just the LB7 elements now. They were a bigger element but I suppose I should have sold GM some of my fuel filter head spacers...http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Yep, no longer available. I tried getting some more of the LLY filters from my source and they don't have them anymore. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif They are now selling the LB7 filters until the new comes out that will be for both (with the black stripe on it.)
