I am aware that there is a TSB for older models that addresses the steering clunk, but I've yet to come across one for an 04'. Would it be possible that the issue is also the intermediate steering shaft? I get a clunk when turning on rough/uneven roads. I've only felt this at speeds <35 mph when turning the wheel more than 1/4 turn from center.
..any ideas?

My new intermediate shaft is on order. The clunk is annoying as hell.

Is there an easy way to reproduce this clunk? Took my truck to the dealership and couldn't get it to clunk. ...so of course there is nothing wrong with it. It seems to happen only when the two front tires are moving in opposite vertical directions, and the steering wheel is turned as described above.

Any turn for me under 30MPH makes the noise. Mine has gotten worse over time.

If GM is aware of this problem, why in the hell didn't they revise the part on the new pickups? I've heard that they are replacing the whole shaft now, not just the intermediate shaft. Is this true? I'm waiting a little bit for my dealership to become familiar with replacing these before I take mine in. C'mon GM, what's the problem?
