well I want a new exhaust system on my truck so who's going to buy it for me?:anitoof:

Anyways I'm looking at buying an MBRP 5" downpipe back exhaust for truck in sig, but it only comes in their "installer series" instead of their "XP" or "pro" series. Their 4" downpipe back exhaust system comes in the "XP" series

-Installer series (aluminized) - Three (3) year warranty from the date of purchase.
-XP Series (T-409 SS) - Lifetime warranty
-Pro Series (T-304 SS) - Lifetime warranty

I wanted to know if there where any noticeable power differences between the 4" and 5" so I Emailed MBRP and they said.

Hello John,
I wouldn't be able to give you average life span between the exhausts as a lot depends on the area that you're driving in and what you're exposed to. Our aluminized systems come with a full 3 yr. warranty that covers rust through on the pipes and any manufacturers defects. To date, we have never had a system come back because of rust through....

Usually, we advise anyone looking for 5" that they should have at least
450HP at the rear wheels before they'll see any performance gains from the
5" - otherwise the 4" and 5" performance are the same.

The 5" is definitely a more aggressive sounding system than the 4".

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Ok, so here are my actual questions. How does the 5" aluminized hold up? How much louder is it? How much louder if I get the muffler delete too?

P.S. I like it loud and mean soundeing and don't care to much about inside cab noise. I just don't want to get pulled over or have the neighbors complain about the noise whenever I drive around.

Any help/advice is greatly appreciated Thanks

:blahblah: My long post is officialy over

Get the 304 alloy, and never look back. 2 CT winters, with weekly trips into NY (salt), and no rust. 304 can also be polished out to a chrome finish.

I know it's a better material, but Idaho is really dry. The thing is that I wanted the 5" sound and I cant get the "cool duals" because I have a gooseneck hitch. maybe I should play it safe with the better material.

any of you guys with the 5" have any thing to add?

I don't beleive that you can get MBRP 5" in stainless, only aluminized. I think Magnaflow is the only 5" stainless out there.

How long do you plan on keeping the truck? If its under 5 years, just get the aluminized. If your keeping it longer, go with a either an MBRP stainless 4" kit, or get a MAgnaflow 5". The Magnaflow kit will NOT sound as aggresive as the MBRP 5" though due to the muffler core. Let me know if I can help with anything.

Could I put an MBRP muffler delete pipe on the 5" magnaflow?
