My truck has now 1200 miles on it and I think it was a lot smoother
running when I got it. I have removed the egr plug and put it back
later because it took too long to heat up the engine.
I can clearly hear the typical diesel knocking at any speed (at lot a
exactly 2500 rpm - I guess thats when pilot injection is turned off?).
I have driven an old LB7 with 80K miles and that was a lot quieter than
mine is.
Maybe it takes a couple to 10k miles to break the engine in to make it
quieter? Is there a chance the egr removal changed the fuel management
to compensate? As of now is sounds more like my old old Landcruiser
with 200K miles on it and with no sophisticated common rail
injection....
Any ideas?
Thanks!
