Hi all,
So I decided it was high time to replace the shocks and while I was at it I should do the steering stabilizer. My current problem is with removing the old steering stabilizer.
The old one looks like the original, ouch. I was able to remove the nut and bolt from the cross member, and I was finally able to remove the nut from the steering or is it called a tie rod (unsure), but the bolt on that end will not come out of the tie rod...and of course the one end of the shock is still attached to it.
I've been putting a good penetrating oil on it for a little over 24 hrs. It's too tight of a space to get a pry bar on the end of the open ended wrench. I've been hitting it the best I can with a hammer, but to tell you the truth I don't know which direction I should be going. Is the bolt in the tie rod, lefty loosy, or is it a reverse thread? Anybody know?
Any other suggestions on how to get it removed other than keep doing what I am doing and have more patience? Boy, I hate that word.
thanks,
Binky
