I was hoping to post a poll, but I don't know how.
I do however have a theory that I would like to have some comments on. I have 2 LLY's that overheat on heavy pulls. Both these trucks also get about 25% less fuel mileage than my LB7's. Does anybody else that overheats notice this or have this problem?
Also has anybody done anything that definately helped the fuel mileage?
Also tell me if its a 2500 or 3500?Edited by: RickDLance

a friend and I have nearly identical rigs, both CC/SWB/4wd silverado's. Only difference is his is an 03 LB7, mine an 04.5 LLY.
we both pull nearly identical enclosed bike haulers, 7x14 dual axle. Mine is about 800 lbs heavier, with living quarters.
we get near identical mileage, 19 or so highway empty, 13-14 towing and 14 or so around town.
as to overheating, no problem with what we pull, both under 5K, so no overheating.

I have been following an interesting Yahoo Group thread on Water Injection. The testing has been done on Corvette LS1 and LS6 motors. It is amazing how much it drops the IAT's. When I say water I mean a window washing fluid with alcohol in it. You would use about a gallon per tank or less. On gas motors you could reasonably go to lower octane fuel as long as you tuned accordingly without any danger of knock or misfires. Mileage is up a fair amount too.
I am going to install this on my Z06 when the final kit's are ready. Test mules are now running exhaustive tests and will through the winter. I am curious how much this would help on these turbo diesels? Anyone have any experience with this?
I played around with WI in the early 70's on high compression engines. It worked great except that it was difficult to control consistently. With the pcm's, MAF sensors and throttle position sensors it is a snap today.
