For those of us wanting some milder upgrades, like a regular juice, or similar power level from a programmer, do you still have limp mode with a programmer?

I think I would rather have a box, but I sure would like to be able to reprogram for bigger tires. But I want something that still has some safety of a limp mode if you overdo it. So, does the juice help protect a transmission better than a programmer?

The Juice is the safest when it comes to the shifts but some hot rodders complain of the shift detune (delay). None will help OD holding although but there again keeping under 90 additional HP will be your Savior.

Moderation is the key if you just want some extra power. I know of some who have had excellent success doing just that.Running level 1-2 all the time 3 and 4 (90) very seldom.

Not all get the bug to go nuts!

I'd personally buy the Juice and look for a used Programmer or really get it done and buy a TTS ecm.I believe Steve has a 3 Position with a 120 Max HP level.Again using only the two lower settings only!

Nice thing about piggy back type boxes instead of programers is that they have the ability to look for trans slipage and back of so they are a little safer than a tuner. That said I never noticed any slipage with my 90 hp juice. You can still easily over power a trans with a box that is looking for slipage and backing down. Thing you have to remember is that for a box to back down it has to see the slippage......meaning its seeing slippage, if its backing down you are slipping your trans, your not as likely to limp it right away but it dosnt mean you can set it to kill and the box will dump power and save you long term. A quick chat with Steve Cole at TTS may get something that you like though.

I havent been in the 120 tts tune much, either the Extreme or the 80hp tune and the 80 hp tune is nice. It feels like stock with more nuts. I did really like my edge when I ran it too though, lotsa buttons and features to play with.
