I installed my PPE in my LMM a week ago. I am running level 2 and havent tried any other levels yet. My buddy has been raving about his LBZ and how mush power it has for the last year. When I took him for a ride in mine he was pretty shocked. Tonight, we left a friend house in seperate trucks and as he came up along side of me he beeped me on the nextell and said "hold it at 50 mph and when I say go just floor it". Well,,,,,I love this truck and the tuner. He could not believe how my truck pulled away.:D Then we started at a red light from a standing start. Same thing, just a very strong pull away. It was amazing when you actually see it truck against truck. I cant wait to get the gauges in and try level 4 with the air box mod.

The best thing is before the tuner, I was seeing my DIC at 12.5 to 14 mpg. Now I have actually seen 15, 16 and 17 on the dic. I am driving around town mostly with this tank, right now at a 1/2 tank and I am looking at 14.7 when I got home tonight after really getting on it and messing around against my buddy. How can I b%tch about that.

Oh Ya, 1/2 tank, I am due for a regen. Well thats life.

The DIC is no longer accurate with the added timing and fueling with tuners..

Is level 2 dangerous to the trans?? I don't usually drive like that.

Level 2 is about the LIMIT for how much power you wanna throw through it...

Thanks. Are these guys running trans mods with level 4?

Is level 2 dangerous to the trans?? I don't usually drive like that.Usually around 90-100 horse is the limit on a stocker. Some last with much more, some dont. The tow/haul button should be on when giving her hell, and try to let up on the 4-5 shift. Also full power donshifts are hard on the Ally!Transgo makes a kit that will do wonders for you and you can do it yourself if you can read instructions.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to educate myself on the next level before I do damage. Thanks again. Any other info would be great.

Dont floor it at highway speeds....Like above 50 or so.....

Keep it at 90 h.p. or less....Anything more and that trans is on borrowed time.

It is not correct any longer but in my last 6 tanks of fuel mine has been off .03-.05 MPG. That is not to far off if you want a round a bout.

Has anyone ever got a clear answer for running a higher tune (stock trans)on the '06LLY? I would think if a LBZ or LMM can safely run a 90hp tune it would be on the border for a LLY to run a 160hp tune yes or no? I plan on doing a trans go to hold me over for a while but I should be able to add the extra 50-55hp due to the detuning correct?

Sorry for the derail question.

Is your buddies LBZ stock or running the same tune?

That makes sense, Nick. when I was talking to Dan at PPE when I was installing the Xcelerator on Thursday, he said it would be fine to run level 4 as long as wasn't dogging her hard?!?!?

I have 34k miles on my stock Ally at around 500 hp. No problems at all so far. I do drive it very hard.

yes unit i would have to say i dont agree with you as far as the tranny being on borrowed time, I have a turbo back exhaust mod airbox egr plate and ppe wiht the hot unlock level 5 and as long as you reset the tranny after changing the tune i think your in good shape the guys over at ppe havent had one truck come back that stays on 4 or below adn on 2 while towing, i have over 40000 on mine and i drive the shit out of it on the weekends it rarely leaves level 4 and sometimes is in 5 of course i try not to punnish it to hard but no problems here as long as your not an idiot

P.s the level 5 is a 260 tune with PPE and 225 on level 4

hell yeah i shoe mine in level 4 no problems and the guys at ppe assured me that it is safe in level 4 dont worry about just try not to abuse it

make sure after you go up a tune you plug back in and reset the tranny so that it goes to fast learn mode

How do you reset the tranny???

LMMOWNER

let me remember here ..... i believe you plug in turn to run then select either diag options or callibration one of the modes othen then tune engine and it should be second option down or so yes to access then it should ask reset tranny, yes again and it should say wait a few seconds then your good to go hit no to back out to beginning screen and then hit no again and it will say no tunning changes made turn the key off and your done, ps. the tranny under fast learn takes 10-20 miles to relearn instead of 1-3 hundred after the 10- 20 miles the gear box will go back to slow learn where it will continue to make slight adjustments

Couple of questions... You can add 225-260 hp on an LMM with no problems? Is that with stock exhaust? The most Bully Dog can add at this point is 75 hp. (LMM)

Also, what is this about a fast tranny re-learn? Can I do that on an LBZ? Do you need PPE to do it? I wish it wouldn't take days for the tranny to learn just because I add a hundred horsepower. So how do you enable it?

So do you hammer it sometimes and everything is still fine? I have 1500 miles on the clock and don't want to screw something up by going to level 3 or 4. I bet it feels pretty bad azz:eek: in 4 but I will go to 3 for a bit for now...:D

There are fixing to be some transmission repair posts...

Still waiting for my Ally to show the first sign of failure. With over 100 runs and a proven 550 hp, I have never "limped", set any tranny codes, or flashed the "PRNDL". Maybe I should flush the tranny for the first time now at 35k miles? I suppose I'm just lucky...

are you that rating to the wheels 4 rotor and if so what are you running?

4rotorCorvette

Long time ago with an older, inferior program than the one I am running now I dynoed 421 rear wheel horsepower and 635 rear wheel torque. By my calculations (20% driveline loss on the Allison) that is 527 engine horsepower and 635 engine torque. Now that I have broken in the truck and made major improvements to the tune, I would estimate my rear wheel horsepower at approaching 500, and torque over 700 depending on how it's dynoed. So to me 550 engine horsepower is still a conservative figure, although I don't like to say since the truck is only running low 13s. What do you guys think?
