: Installed PPE onmy LMM 2day
salmandmx 07-26-2007, 07:36 PM Just installed my xcelerator, this thing is great. I ran it on level 4 for about an hour and this thing hauls, I'd have to say its faster than my LBZ with the bullydog. Moved it back to level 2 and drove around and my DIC was reading 17-20mpg vs the 15-17.8mpg that it was reading prior. Truck shifts smoother and has better throttle response. The guys at PPE are great. They are very knowledgeable and actually KNOW about your vehicle vs other perfomance companies which I won't mention, that don't know the difference between and LLY LBZ and LMM. Great product!
Farmer Dave 07-26-2007, 09:02 PM Do the the air box mod and level 4 even seems better. Glad to see you finally got it, enjoy.
hawaiigmc 07-26-2007, 09:32 PM installing the PPE, will it void the vehicles warranty?

I dont think so. If the dealer can prove the damages were done from the tuner than yes they can deny work, but it shouldnt be a problem.

Farmer Dave, did u do the airbox mod? I assume when doing this u use the stock filter?

You guys running PPE on level 4 are runnung tran mods? I am concerned with my trans. Can I run the higher levels with the stock trans as long as I drive like a gentleman? I am looking for milage not performance.
kevinwarren240 07-27-2007, 07:45 AM i have 5000 miles on stage 4 and have yet to hurt the trans and i beat on it alot. i am installing the trans go jr and i hope to be fine on the excel hot program from ppe here in a week or two. we will see

Yes you use the stock filter. Was going to get a k@n but all the guys on here say it's a waste of money. GM was really thinking when they made the airbox, you can take that thing out in less then a minute. I'm a little worried about my trans on level 4, but I'm not going to upgrade untill PPE comes out with a couple more levels. I would like to run the truck for a year or two in basically stock form, just to get the bugs worked out. It's nice having warranty on everything for a couple years. Plus I've spent too much money on the truck already.
dirtdigger69 07-27-2007, 08:52 PM What programing options does the ppe have versus the tripledog, ppe does not give much info on the website. I really want to remove the speed limiter.

Triple-Dog is a good tuner. I had one on my LBZ, it has a lot of good features but it doent actually make the power they advertise. Triple Dog is a universal tuner that can be used in any truck vs the PPE which is Duramax specific. I also notice that the driving manner with my truck in level 2 with the PPE is a lot smoother than stocl. ie: shifting, throttle response and fuel economy.

The speed limiter is selectable on the LMM's from 40-200mph

DSTEVENS 07-30-2007, 02:23 PM Question, you guys with the stock exhaust, how does the particulate filter handle all the extra fuel, and smoke, just wonderind since i looked into the blunderbuss of a gmc the other day and was amazed at how clean that filter keeps it. D.
