I am looking for a scan tool to just able to read and clear codes and monitor live data for tuning purposes. I not looking anything to change perameters or set TDC. I have been looking a many sites and would like the opinion of someone who knows more than I do (that won't take much) about what brand/tyoe of scan tool to buy. There is a seller on #bay that sells different types. One of the auction numbers is 190134403053. Any guidance will help. Thanks in advance.

I apologize in advance if it is against forum rules to mention #bay because they are not a vendor

Carcode - Easescan - Autoenginuity - SnapOn\Matco - Tech2 - anything else is just a code reader or gimmick

Laptop will be your best bet - Snapon and Tech2 are 3500 and 5600 new - rest start at ~125bucks up to ~700bucks for full-option domestic versions

Any of you guys know of any other versions, please post them for subsequent checkout
