Mattrax a track system to replace your tires on you're truck http://www.mattracks.com (http://www.mattracks.com)

The system looks like it is done well has anyone here had any
expirences with them and dose anyone know of any other companys that
offer this sort of thing. I have found some for ATV's but thats it.

I have driven them at work. They seem to work well with some modifications to the truck, other than what they recomend.

I drove two types of trucks with them on. One was a '98 Chevy 4 door 1 ton. and the other was a 2001 Ford 4 door 1 ton. Both seemed to handle them well but the Chevy did have a smoother ride over the snow drifts.

You will need to move the vehicle before you start to turn or you stand the chance off bursting a hose or damaging the steering pump or other items.

It did not get stuck in the snow, but befor some modifications the tracks roled over when going over a drift and tore the front fender up. After the mods the tracks worked great. But the cost for going in odd places just seems to be a little high for me.

I may be a young guy but yes I do have my license, although where I
plan on going with the system I wont be needing it. I’m up in northern
Ontario, Canada and getting to the camp in the past has proven
difficult. Sometimes a sled just isn’t practical and this seems
to be my best bet short of a chopper. Somehow I don’t think the
family is going to go for that! The Mattracks on a quad cab long
box seems like our best option. How much of the fender will I
need to get rid of anyhow?

On the rear fenders the portion just below the rubber molding on the 1998 style trucks was cut off both in front and behind the tire. I am not sure if this was cut due to the rear tracks rolling over and smashing that part of the fender or not or if it was just somthing was they decided to do.

As for the front tires there was some modification done to the stops on the tracks that keep it from rolling. The stock set up apperently was not working well.
