I just replaced my lift pump and added a relay. When engine cold pump runs (checked at drain) after running 15 min or more pump not working. relay is working. Engine off jumped relay pump not working. Got under truck to check pump very HOT. let cool sev. hours and pump runs but repeats again after run. Pump bad allready?

either its bad or is over heating and failing because of restrictions in line from tank. possibly the strainer sock in tank is clogged. i would change the pump one more time before dropping tank to replace sock. if you do drop the tank i would disconnect line in from pump and blow line through while its apart.

What make is the Lift pump? I know Master and Carter make pumps for the 6.5s but if you read on the box it says 'for gasoline and gasohol' and these pumps are EXTREMELY unreliable. If the new lift pump is an OEM one for DELPHI, then you need to look somewhere else because the pump is not the problem.

Its a carter from Advance with a life time warranty (20 min) I think I should get my money back. Thanks.
