All I can say is wow these puppies are bright. Great for backin up off road in the dark. I ran a 10 guage wire back to a 70amp relay to the left backup bulb hot wire. When I back up it triggers the relay and sends plenty of power to the 2 bu lights. They are bright white with no yellow to them at all.

Nice. A little big for my liking but I am sure the improved light more then makes up for their size.

PC, if I had a set mounted on my truck where you have yours I would have lost the right one as that corner of my truck went through a Ford Focus headlight last Friday morning. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gifThe kid tried to zip between me and a parked car as I was backing up. The sound of a shattering headlight assembly is spectacular. The kid had just got a speeding ticket on post from the MPs and was in a borrowed car. Oh yeah only had a license for two weeks.

Being an auto electrical novice, why couldn't you just tie into the back up light wiring? Why do you need a relay?

Because the wiring, switches etc that are there now are not heavy enough to handle the extra load of the new lights.

well I coulda just wrapped foil around the fuse and done that. It would have smoked the wires 3 seconds later.

PC, looks like you may need mud flaps to keep road rocks from breaking those lights from the backside. Just an observation.

I'm going to do this to, and wire it to a switch. I got the idea after
I passed a Ford truck, and he was so bitter he gave me the high beam
treatment. I sure wished I had them then!
