Had the new steering shaft installed and the problem still exists. I wonder if they even done the switch at the stealer.

I'd be careful... There are a lot of well respected, hard working, helpful Techs on here that work at the so called 'stealer.'

Could be a problem with the actual steering box - it's happened before.

You could put some sort of mark on the part that you are requesting to get replaced that only you will notice if it has been removed or replaced.

I have heard of some dealers/mechanics shorting people on items they say they replaced and pocketing the charges, but most are fairly reputable.

Sorry about using the word "stealer". The old service manager pulled a fast one on me but there is a new manager now at the dealer. I had a bad taste left in my mouth from the last one but the new manager helped me out big time recently. Sorry if I offended any techs.

Jason, I need my shaft replaced also.

Dealer said the shafts are on backorder, so mine is on order. Could be it wasn't replaced if the old SM was shady?

My dealer greased it up for now, will call when the shaft is in. BTW the grease did eliminate the rattle, for now.

I had my intermediate steering shaft replaced when the new part # came out, haven't had a clunk since, been over a month.

If it is made in China that may be the reason for them not fixing the problem. Lowest bidder. Most forign metals don't hold up to US made products. No offense to anyone outside but history has prooved itself. Now this is not to say that all US made products are the best but like I said earlier you get what you pay for.
