Has anyone noticed that when you unlock your truck with the remote at night the backup lights turn on? Is that normal?

Yes it is called "perimeter lighting." I think you can turn off that option through your (the truck's) DIC...

Normal...have a breeze through your owners manual, it shows how to set that stuff up.....

There is a few things like that, depending on the year and option package you have. Have fun playing with your DIC. :D

What they all said. Its normal. Its to help you see around your truck at night as you approach or leave it and not be in the dark.

My Fire and Ice LED bar also lights up bright white with perimeter lighting.

Any idea if there is a way to keep the peremeter lighting on for use at night when hooking up or unhooking a trailer by installing a manual switch inside the cab?
