Hi Guys,

Looking for a little help and info. I'm in the process of having ford buy
back my POS and hopefully I'll get the option of money vs. a new truck.

I've never owned any truck other than a Ford , so this is a little weird.

Test drove two trucks today. A Chevy 2500 series and a Dodge 2500
series.

My impressions were mixed with both. The Chevy has a real nice ride,
real nice interior. I'm not so happy with the looks,but... I really liked the
ride.

It seemed to me the Chevy was lacking in power. Had to keep the pedal
down about half way. Is the way it usually is? Quiet idle. I know I'm used
to my POS Ford, with all it's problems it still goes like a scalded cat. I
thought the same with the Dodge, so I figure I'm used to the Ford turbo
kicking in and putting me in the seat. Neither the Dodge or the Chevy had
the seat in the pants kick i'm used to.

What are typical problems with the Chevy?
Mileage ?
Dependable?
Any pics of custom done trucks. I would want to spruce it up.

Talk me into a Dodge or GMC. My Girl likes the way the Dodge looks. I'm
a little wary of the stiff front axle. Although , it drove better than my POS.
BUT MAN that tail pipe is loud...

Thanks.....

Do a search here on injectors, then pull up a beer.

Injectors aren't that much of an issue since you will have a new LLY which the injectors are easier to change and don't seem to be too much trouble.

Most people get close to 20mpg and don't have any trouble with their duramaxs. Of course like any, there are always trouble with some. So far I have had zero problems with my 2 duramaxs and I wouldn't think of owning anything else. Especially Dodge. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I personally think the GM trucks are much better looking then the dodges.

Here is a post where we all post pictures of our trucks. It should give you lots of ideas. There are a lot nice trucks in there!

Thanks, I bookmarked that. I'm starting to dig the GMC..... Only
injectors? Ford had injectors PLUS.... My engine has already been out
once....

I'm assuming the allison has been bullet proof?

How about squeaks and rattles? My rattles like a baby's toy..

Fumes in the cab?

Smoke out the tail pipe?
